AirAsia Philippines: All flights go as scheduled from October 1 to 15

AirAsia Philippines has offered a guarantee that all domestic flights would take off as planned from October 1 to 15, 2021 to boost market presence and confidence among its guests.

COVID-19 quarantine restrictions recently imposed in Metro Manila and neighboring areas have prompted Philippine carriers to adjust flight schedules as necessary. AirAsia ensures its passengers that their travel would go as planned now that most Local Government Units (LGUs) have loosened entry protocols, allowing both essential and leisure travelers into their provinces.

“In AirAsia, we take to heart the sentiments of our guests. We know that traveling in the new normal entails a lot of preparation such as submission of negative RT-PCR or antigen test and acceptance certificate or QR codes to their respective LGUs,” as stated by AirAsia Philippines Spokesperson Steve Dailisan.

He added, “We understand the need to reassure our guests that when they travel with AirAsia, they fly with peace of mind because of our stringent health and safety protocols and that they will reach their destination safely and on time as scheduled.”

However, AirAsia Philippines noted that this effort does not apply to situations involving conditions beyond the airline’s control, such as typhoons, volcanic eruptions, or government-imposed restrictions. As a result, flights may need to be merged or rescheduled on a case-to-case basis.

AirAsia Philippines: No scheduled flight cancellations from October 1 to 15

Meanwhile, AirAsia Philippines anticipates a rise in domestic passenger traffic in the fourth quarter due to increased flight frequency to Bohol, Boracay, and Cebu. The airline has restored 15% of its pre-pandemic frequency to date. Its month-over-month load factor has also increased by 78%.

Revitalizing the tourism industry

To help boost demand and revitalize the tourism industry, AirAsia Philippines is also firmly supporting local government units and other business organizations in their appeal to remove the RT-PCR test and introduce a more convenient travel requirement for fully vaccinated passengers.

For the 12th year in a row, international airport and airline review and ranking site Skytrax named AirAsia the Best Low-Cost Airline globally and in Asia. AirAsia Group is also one of the top airlines globally, receiving a total 7/7 score from aviation experts at Airlineratings.com for being COVID-19 safe.

AirAsia has made check-in via the AirAsia Duper App mandatory for all guests as a part of its COVID-19 mitigation plan to guarantee the safety of its guests and personnel. All customers are advised to download and use the AirAsia Super App; the only all-in-one app they will need for their trip from flight to hotel reservations.

The airline has introduced several contactless operations in recent times including check-in, boarding, in-flight, and baggage collection. Furthermore, 100% of AirAsia Philippines’ flight crew and ground employees have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 to ensure that guests receive the highest level of safety and hygiene at all times.
