Health Travel Icon will soon be on AirAsia Super App

In collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), AirAsia Philippines on September 22, 2021, has announced that guests will soon experience seamless verification of vaccine information through AirAsia Super App as the airline continues its commitment to its guests on giving a safer and better travel experience in behalf of the new normal.

The said icon will soon be available to all passengers through AirAsia Super App both on mobile and desktop users.  Under the new integrated system, verified vaccination information of guests will be directly uploaded on the app through the Department of Health’s (DOH) VaxCertPH.         

In compliance with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidelines, VaxCertPH was recently developed by DICT to help DOH in verifying the legitimacy and certifications of a passenger’s vaccination status.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla said that integrating the AirAsia Health Travel Icon into the AirAsia Super App is their way of supporting the immediate and swift recovery not only of the airline industry but the country’s tourism sector as a whole. 

Isla added that this further defines the digital direction of the company.  “We will continue to create and develop system enhancements which will level up the digital travel experience of our guests.”

Apart from the Health Travel Icon, the company assures to strengthen its security and safety across all domestic flights and airports in the country.  Now that leisure travels are slowly picking up, travelers from the National Capital Region (NCR) will now be allowed to cross the borders again by continuously abiding and applying safety measures.

Health Travel Icon currently is undergoing a trial phase in Indonesia while the trial phase in the Philippines will commence towards October of 2021 in time for the expected influx of passengers who are bound for this “Ber” season. 

“While we are all looking forward to the trial phase of the special feature of the app in the Philippines, we are also exploring future enhancements such as making RT-PCR Test or Antigen test results available on the Super App soon,” Isla added.

On top of the digitization upgrades of the company, AirAsia Philippines continually reminds its guests to follow health and safety protocols, as well as, to legitimize travel requirements and go to legit sources.  Guests are also reminded of the repercussions of the forged documents or submitting fake test results.
