AirAsia Philippines calls for honesty to a safer flight experience

COVID-19 pandemic did rock the world. It brought us to an age where we never imagine living. People wearing facemasks wherever or whenever even if it’s on the beach or taking a run in the park; rubbing alcohol after touching who or what; and the least we enjoy the most are the travel bans, border restrictions that forbid us from traveling to the destinations we’ve planned and booked for months. It’s ridiculous when you think of what is happening now.

The new normal left us not much of a choice but to stay at home; making us hungry for leisure and travel. As the tourist destinations began to plug their invitations, some took advantage of this chance to unwind, maybe for only three days but turns out banned because of the fake test results attained or cases like forged documents.

That’s why, AirAsia Philippines reminds all its guests on Monday, September 13 to transact with honesty in complying with their travel documents, as well as, remind its future passengers to seek credible diagnostic laboratories and testing centers upon taking Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR).

As to the report given by PNP-Aviation Security Group, a total of 256 passengers have been arrested at the airport for fake RT-PCR results from December 31, 2020, to August 31, 2021.

This illegal exercise could endanger the safety of the passengers because it’s transmissive. Not only that, this could lead to a law violation of RA 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.  Penalties could wave up to P50, 000 or six months of imprisonment.

AirAsia PH Spokesperson Steve Dailisan expressed the support of AirAsia PH to the government in protecting its borders to control the spread of the virus.  “We, at AirAsia Philippines are committed to implementing the highest standard of health and safety protocols so that guests could fly with peace of mind.”

According to Dailisan, to ensure their guests’ safety, AirAsia partnered with various diagnostic laboratories and trusted institutions to deliver affordable and accessible COVID-19 tests to all their guests.

AirAsia’s guests may choose from eight partner laboratories in Metro Manila and this includes:

(1)  Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory;  (2) Health Metrics; (3) Safeguard DNA Diagnostics, (4) Hi-Precision Diagnostics; (5) Hero Laboratories; (6) Manila Doctors Hospital; and, (7) Cardinal Santos Medical Center. The Lord’s Grace offered a price cut on its services and a P1, 000 discount on RT-PCR bringing down the rates up to P2, 500 and an antigen test for P775 exclusively for AirAsia passengers until December 31, 2021.

Speaking of the Authorized Persons outside Residence (APOR), returning OFWs, and other essential travelers, the airline is giving a discounted “my bookings” and “pack more, save more” promo for those who are flying to Cagayan de Oro.

For passengers who booked flights via “my bookings” will get a P50 discount on all flights until October 31, 2021.

The “My Bookings” option allows the passengers to take control of their booking schedules. The booking confirmation will be delivered after 24 hours.

Aside from this, passengers flying in and out of Cagayan de Oro will also get to enjoy the P100 discount on every 30- 40 kg baggage that is only up until November 30, 2021.  This limited promo is also open for leisure travelers.

The airline’s efforts by going above and beyond the protection of its passengers against COVID-19 scored them a perfect 7-star rating from Airlineratings.com.  To maximize the safety and security of its guests and passengers, AirAsia PH accomplished its internal campaign of getting its Allstars vaccinated against COVID-19.
