Another victory for the AirAsia group! During the World Airline Awards by Skytrax 2021, AirAsia was recognized for the 12th consecutive time as the best low-cost airline in the world! Amidst these turbulent times, this award truly shows that AirAsia continues to live up to its commitment to provide its passengers with the best services with the lowest fares. The Skytrax World Airline Awards is known to be the “Oscar Awards” of the airline industry.
What does this mean for AirAsia?
AirAsia being voted by passengers as the World’s Best Low-Cost airline means that travelers are very happy and satisfied taking AirAsia flights, from ticket purchase to check-in, to fares, airport services, inflight services, and until the time passengers leave the terminal. These are the passengers who will always fly AirAsia and of course, shall recommend them to others.
The consumers or travelers are the ones who vote. Over 100 customer nationalities participated in the survey, with the 2021 Awards based on 13.42 million eligible survey entries counted in the final results (88% of these were registered up to March 2020).
While the pandemic has put airlines in survival mode where winning an award is not much of a priority these days, gaining such recognition truly speaks a lot about the airline. Winning it also for 12 straight years means that AirAsia has been consistent with its high standard services and innovation.
FlightGlobal Airline Strategy Awards 2021
AirAsia gained another recognition, this time from the Flight Global Strategy Awards 2021 for Business Innovation. If you may have noticed, AirAsia has continued to improve its digital platform as it gears towards the digital age. This includes its innovative AirAsia Super App which caters to air travelers, making their flying experience more convenient from their fingertips.
Covid-19 Airline Excellence Award
Another special award that AirAsia bagged was the Covid-19 Airline Excellence Award. So what is this? According to Skytrax, “COVID-19 standards were rated across several key areas including; information and signage, distancing marking and controls, face mask usage consistency amongst staff and passengers, visibility and frequency of hand sanitizers, standard and availability of hygiene products, adapted service in the airport and on board flights, and cleaning standards and frequency during the end to end travel experience.”
