It’s not a surprise why Filipinos are considered beauty contest enthusiasts given our numerous awards and recognitions both local and international.

AirAsia Philippines collaborated with Miss Universe Philippines this year to promote the importance of reviving travel and tourism. Together with the outstanding candidates, this milestone serves as a beacon of hope and optimism for the industry, failing businesses, existing and former employees indicating a significant comeback of air travel.

The 28 Miss Universe Philippines finalists travelled to Bohol aboard AirAsia flight Z28358 as its official airline carrier on September 26, 2021. The lovely delegates representing various cities and provinces shared their travel experiences, as well as their steadfast support for the tourism industry during the flight.

Roussane Bernos, one of the candidates representing San Juan City, expressed her delight in flying for the first time during the pandemic. “This is my first time flying again ever since the pandemic started. I feel very awesome that I got to experience this with the girls and we’re all safe, and we’re all together, as we go to Bohol.” She explained.

Ms. Taguig, Katrina Dimaranan and Ms. Laguna, Leren Bautista improved their flight experience by experiencing what it’s like to be a member of an award-winning, world-class cabin crew. The ladies offered tasty Santan goodies to their fellow candidates, ensuring an extra degree of safety by adhering to the airline’s strict health and safety regulations.

“My cabin crew experience was so much fun, and I always wondered how it felt to be the one to serve the people on the plane. It was so much fun to be able to see from the cabin crew’s point of view. With that said, it was a lot of hard work, ha! So I had to say thank you talaga for your service.” Katrina shares.

“To everyone that is missing taking flights to visit their family and friends, just know that soon as this pandemic is over we’ll get to do that again,” Katrina added, noting that the Ber Months had begun and the holiday season was quickly approaching.

With AirAsia’s contactless protocols and upgraded safety precautions, all candidates felt safe flying with them during their journey. While the queens are confident that flying is safe, Ms. Pangasinan Maureen Wroblewitz shared an essential tip to vacation and leisure seekers in this time of a pandemic.

“To everyone who misses travelling, I feel you…I haven’t travelled in so long but it is possible right now. You just need to make sure to follow the health protocols and to make sure you have all the papers and the guidelines and we can all help boost our tourism again and visit our beautiful destinations in the Philippines,” she said.

She added, “I’m grateful to AirAsia for really taking care of us and for making sure we feel safe while we are travelling to our destination.”

The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Coronation Night will be held at the Hennan Resort Convention Center in Panglao, Bohol, on September 30, 2021.
