We are all excited again to travel but safety has now become a big consideration. Well aside from numerous requirements, people are still cautious about traveling due to safety reasons. If that is the case, then there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel as more than 90% of all flight crew in the Philippines have been vaccinated versus covid-19! This includes both pilots and cabin crew!
According to a report from Reuters, Philippine Airlines has 90% of the flight crew were vaccinated, while Cebu Pacific said 92% of its workforce, including 97% of pilots, were inoculated. AirAsia Philippines said 92% of its workers had received doses, including 97% of the cabin crew.
Airlines are taking safety to the highest level
While we do know that safety is paramount in the airline industry, our airlines have taken the covid-19 threat seriously and had taken standard safety to a higher level. Every airline has been proactive in vaccinating its frontline crew. In fact, AirAsia Philippines has achieved the 97% vaccinated cabin crew mark. However, AirAsia Berhad said that the frontline workers of the AirAsia group are 100% inoculated. Hence, we are just waiting for the official word from AirAsia Philippines which is which.
The airline crew and frontline workers however are taking it upon themselves also to be fully vaccinated to ensure that every flight is safer than ever. In fact, AirAsia Philippines and Cebu Pacific have a 7-star Covid-19 safety rating from Airline Ratings.
Indeed, our airlines are set to fly passengers safer than ever, thanks to 90% of our flight crew and frontline airline employees in the Philippines who have been vaccinated. We hope that 100% be achieved soon. The only question is when will air travel open once again? Whatever it is though, our airlines are ready!
