Cebu Pacific continues to push for sustainability during the pandemic

It is indeed without a doubt that despite its losses due to the covid-19 pandemic, Cebu Pacific is doing a good job in staying afloat. This includes their digital transformation which actually even began prior to this crisis. In fact, Cebu Pacific continues to push for sustainability during the pandemic through the acquisition of newer aircraft and other digital innovations.

Acquisition of new Airbus A321neo jets

Cebu Pacific took delivery of two Airbus A321neo jets while in the middle of the pandemic. Basically, their move is to phase out older aircraft such as their regular A320-200 aircraft and to go for an all-Airbus NEO fleet. As of today, Cebu Pacific currently has 9 A321neo and 5 A320neo on active status based on Airfleets.net.

Each A321neo is configured with 236 all-economy seats and is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM turbofan engines. All A321neo are the ACF versions or Airbus Cabin Flex. These aircraft are very fuel efficient and are environment friendly due to lower carbon emissions.

Aggressive digital transformation

Cebu Pacific’s digital transformation even began prior to the pandemic however, they have began innovating more to make flying more convenient for passengers. Some of these initiatives are enhancement of the “Manage Booking” portal for any flight booking changes and self-service updating of passenger information; contactless flight procedures; and Charlie the chatbot who answers customer concerns.

Basically, Cebu Pacific has greatly invested in technology to make process flow more efficient, faster, and environment friendly due to more paperless transactions. They have always been anticipating new consumer behavior, marketing trends, and technological advances.

Today in a time of social distancing, Cebu Pacific has been able to establish ways and means to provide more contactless services for its passengers.

Watching over the health and welfare of their employees

Cebu Pacific has also been active in ensuring the physical and mental health of their employees, particularly the pilots, cabin crew, and ground crew. As such, their employees were given access to health monitoring tools, COVID-19 support, and programs for their physical and mental wellness.

They have also began vaccinating their employees with covid-19 jabs.

It looks like Cebu Pacific is indeed on a roll towards recovery and regrowth. So what do you think about Cebu Pacific’s strategies as compared to others? Share us your thoughts on the comments section below.
