In a recent post, we asked people what would be their dream fleet for Philippine Airlines. We got diverse answers, and it was interesting to see how people really have this idea that would help make PAL great again. While of course, PAL ordering a new aircraft these days can be considered a pipe-dream, this can be a reality in the future, like 5 to 10 years from now. There are a lot of possibilities of aircraft type for PAL from the Boeing 777-9X, Airbus A350-1000, Airbus A321XLR, and even the Boeing 787-10.
There are a lot of considerations and factors before PAL makes a final decision on a certain aircraft purchase. A small detail missed out may mean disaster. Take into example when PAL needed a new aircraft to fill in for their Boeing 747-400s. Airbus was offering the A340-600HGW. Boeing was offering the 777-300ER. Gladly, PAL chose the B777-300ER but imagine what could have happened if they chose the A340. It would have meant more trouble for PAL!
Anyway, we are in no position to know the details. However, we want to know from you. If PAL would ask you, our readers, what next new aircraft should they consider getting let’s say 5 to 10 years from now, what would it be? We want to hear from you by answering our poll below!
You may choose your top 3 aircraft, from widebodies to narrowbodies, both from Airbus and Boeing. There is no right or wrong, just cast your vote on which aircraft you feel should PAL consider next on its fleet.
We also no longer placed aircraft that will soon go out of production such as the Airbus A380, Boeing 747-8I, and Boeing 777-300ER (replaced by 777X).
You may choose a mix of Boeing and Airbus jets for PAL, or maybe just a single manufacturer. The decision is yours.
Do not forget to consider PAL’s present profile including destinations, target market, competitors, future trends, and branding.
