AirAsia Philippines employees support and helped out community pantries

AirAsia Philippines recently went out there way to extend full support for the community pantries. Amid the pandemic, these community pantries has greatly helped Filipinos. These community pantries has then brought so much hope for Filipinos, a symbol of the ‘bayanihan spirit’.

These community pantries has caught the attention of AirAsia Philippines and its employees. Through a ‘bayanihan’ internal support, employees donated various items like food items and personal hygiene items. These items which include care kits which contain hand sanitizers, face masks and sanitary wipes along with canned goods, bottled water, and biscuits, were then distributed to different community pantries around the Paranaque and Pasay area.

According also to AirAsia, partner establishments such as Lifebouy and Rebisco have also donated hygiene products, biscuits and breads respectively.

#AlwaysREDy project

AirAsia Philippines’ corporate social responsibility is called the #AlwaysREDy project. Under this project, AirAsia Philippines has engaged in various community outreach programs. They have also extended needed help to typhoon-stricken provinces such as Cagayan and Catanduanes. These places are event not yet part of its route network.

Official AirAsia media release

According to Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines spokesperson, “though the concept of community pantries is no longer new as we constantly exhibit “Bayanihan” during calamities or crises, we can’t help but be amazed on how Filipino ingenuity arises—sharing more with less.

“Our Allstars are #AlwaysREDy to support these collaborative measures as it is very much in line with our core values of making it happen and the sustainability spirit.

“Though the end of the pandemic is already in sight, we still need to hold the line together to eventually break the chain of hunger and suffering by showing random acts of kindness one day, one community, at a time.”

More than just flying Filipinos, AirAsia continues to actively bring hope amidst this pandemic. While things may be really difficult for us during these days, we are happy that there are companies like AirAsia that truly cares.
