With more vaccines airlifted, herd immunity is just around the corner

The aviation industry is bringing hope in the middle of this crisis by airlifting more vaccines. Cebu Pacific continues to airlift much needed covid-19 vaccines to different parts of the country from Metro Manila. According to a media release, total of 91,200 doses (38,400 for Tacloban, 28,800 for Cotabato, and 24,000 for Zamboanga) were safely delivered yesterday, April 14, 2021.

We are hoping that herd immunity would be achieved soon in which, the vaccines will play a major role. We can’t wait to travel again without any entry restrictions indeed.

Expediting the vaccination program

With the airlifting of the much needed covid-19 vaccines, local government units are able to expedite the vaccination program. The number of new covid-19 cases per day in the Philippines had been really high lately. We are hoping that these trend would go down soon as more vaccines are airlifted around.

Cebu Pacific currently has a fleet of dedicated cargo aircraft which can fly to even smaller airports. Two ATR 72-500 turboprops of the airline have been converted to dedicated cargo aircraft. We are sure they are being fully utilized to transport these vaccines.

With CEB’s regular flights to Cotabato, we in the government can efficiently act on and prioritize the national government’s recovery program.”

Cotabato City Mayor Frances Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi

We are happy to be recipients of these life-saving vaccines, which arrive in great condition via CEB – these will help us reach more healthcare frontliners in our region.”

Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez

To date, Cebu Pacific has flown 222,000 dosages of vaccines around the country since March 2021. Last week, the airline also transported 34,800 doses to Cotabato, along with 14,400 doses each to Tacloban and Zamboanga.

We hope that our national government also sees the importance of the aviation industry, especially during these times. We hope that they can provide whatever assistance and help they could to keep our local airlines flying.
