Yesterday, April 26, we celebrated World Pilot’s Day where we recognize our great men and women of the skies. They are our frontliners, ensuring that we are flown to our destinations safely. These pilots work round the clock to unite families, fly essential cargo, and to connect the world. It took them countless flying hours and of course, a lot of stash to achieve their dreams.
Meet two pilots whose advocacy is to inspire future aviators, particularly our future pilots. These are no less than Capt. Genesis Bernardo and First Officer Chezka Gonzales Garrido. Both pilots are also vloggers where they create inspirational and informational videos.
More than anything else, these two pilots are very viral. Of course, many of us know who Capt. Genesis is. Well for those unfamiliar, he was the pilot who gave a short tribute to his parents as his passengers during a flight. Capt. Genesis was the pilot and he surprised his parents. He runs his own YouTube channel Captain Genesis. Chezka on the other hand is a YouTube vlogger. She also gets invited by different organizations to share her story and to inspire our dreamers. Her YouTube channel is Filipina Pilot Chezka.
An advocacy of inspiring others
Both pilots continue to inspire our future aviators. Despite the current crisis and pandemic, both believe that all will be fine hopefully soon. For them, there is no room for giving-up chasing our dreams.
