Boarding to digitalization with AirAsia’s SimplyFly Campaign

A recent survey conducted by AirAsia shows that Filipinos tend to depend online on acquiring news about traveling, as 76% of its participants use social media to keep up with travel updates and information while 61% acquire through online news sites. The majority of them gather information through Facebook with 96%, next in line would be Youtube with 80%, Tiktok with 43%, and lastly Instagram with 41%. Traditional media are still relevant for some of the participants, as 68% of them still rely on television for travel updates and information.

With this, AirAsia continuously transcends into digitalization as this January it introduces its new digital campaign called SimplyFly: Traveling Made Simple, where it aims to deliver news and updates to the masses, in regards to aviation and flying, in a more convenient way. This campaign would allow the audiences to be up to date on the latest news of travel restrictions, requirements, protocols, and other information related to travel by simply just searching #airasiaSimplyFly on different digital social media platforms such as; Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

With the new normal in this time of the pandemic and changes constantly occurring, a constant guide of information is pretty much needed. Ricky Isla, AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer shared that: “The ‘normal’ defined by the pandemic is one that is bound to continue changing for some time. And the key to achieving agility and adaptability during this time is easy to access to the information we need. We have millions of followers on our social media channels so we want to make sure they are up-to-date on all things travel through our SimplyFly Campaign.”

With the existence of the omicron variant and rapid change in the daily cases in the country, restrictions and protocols for travelers are constantly being modified, with the help of the SimplyFly Campaign, traveling would be a lot easier for travelers as they would be fully aware and knowledgeable of the different new restriction and protocols that could be implemented not just in our country but across the world.

As AirAsia Philippines welcomes digital media with open arms, its different digital platforms have been working non-stop to provide updates and information on flying and traveling. Their AirAsia Super App on Facebook continuously promotes the SimplyFly Campaign. It also hosts video lives to be able to interact with its audiences.
