Air India to Add an Additional 40 Weekly Flights to the UK, US

Air India will be increasing its flights to the United States and the United Kingdom with 20 additional weekly flights.

The Delhi-based carrier announced it will increase flights to Birmingham, London, and San Francisco before the end of the year. Birmingham will see five additional flights, London with nine, and six to San Francisco, providing +5,000 additional seats every week with the added flights.

For its services to the UK, Air India’s current number of weekly flights will go up from 34 to 48. Of the five extra flights to Birmingham, three will be from Delhi and two from Amritsar. The nine additional flights to London will include five from Mumbai, three from Delhi, and one from Ahmedabad.

Air India will now offer customers non-stop flights to London from seven cities in India.

Air India’s weekly flights to San Francisco will increase from 10 to 16 with the airline offering three more flights weekly from Mumbai and the resumed thrice-weekly flights from Bengaluru. The airline will offer non-stop flights to San Francisco from three cities – Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

With the added flights to San Francisco, Air India will boost its flights to the US from 34 to 40 weekly.

“As Air India reinvents itself under the Vihaan.AI transformation programme, adding frequency and improving connectivity from major Indian cities to more international destinations is a significant focus. This sizeable frequency increase to the US and the UK, as well as the addition of new city pairs and improved aircraft cabin interiors, comes just 10 months after Air India’s acquisition by the Tata Group. It is a clear signal of our intent, and an early step towards a much bigger aspiration,” said Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director, Air India.
