Air Asia to accept no RT-PCR requirements for travelers and meet demands for holiday season

Air Asia Philippines welcomes the removal of the RT-PCR test for tourists flying to Caticlan (Boracay). Also, the airline is preparing for the demand in travel in the holiday season that holds back during the pandemic.

Starting November 16, fully vaccinated travelers inbound Boracay via Caticlan, will only need to present their vaccination cards to enter the island. This is according to the announcement of the Aklan Provincial Government. This announcement comes after 94% of tourism workers are successfully inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines.

However, Air Asia guests are still required to submit other requirements such as hotel bookings, uploading a digital copy of their vaccine card, and secure QR code.

General Santos City government also waived their RT-PCR test requirement and mandatory quarantine for fully-vaxxed returning residents. Air Asia PH Spox Steve Dailisan said “As cited by our guests, the cost of COVID-19 tests hindered their plans to travel before. Now that most destinations support enhanced mobility for fully vaccinated individuals, we are looking at increasing our frequencies to sustain market demand.”
