Cebu Pacific aiming to operate an all Airbus NEO fleet by 2027

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB) received their very first Airbus A330neo (New Engine Option) last November 28,2021. This makes the airline become the greenest airline in Asia according to their Press Release.

The airline also said that their newest plane is outfitted with 459 lightweight Recaro seats that are ergonomically designed and developed for long-distance comfort of their passengers. This will also allow for more passengers to be transported in a single flight.

As the result of the minimal carbon impact per passenger, this will make CEB is Asia’s greenest airline.

Alex Reyes, Chief Strategy Officer at Cebu Pacific said: “Cebu Pacific’s first A330neo brings us closer to our target of having an all-Neo fleet by 2027, and shows our commitment to making air travel accessible, while ensuring environmental and social sustainability,”

“We believe that growth and sustainability are not mutually exclusive and should in fact be inclusive if we want to work towards the greater good. This is why we will always choose the greener options – increased aircraft efficiency, reduced noise and carbon emissions, to ensure that more low fares will be available for every Juan,” Reyes added.

With the newest innovations, the A330neo consumes 25% less fuel than previous generation aircraft, consuming as low as 1.4 liters per seat per 100 kilometers, burning less fuel and producing less carbon.

“We thank and applaud Cebu Pacific for selecting our latest-technology A330neo as part of its fleet modernisation drive to fly the greenest aircraft for a sustainable future. The A330neo is the first aircraft in the world already certified to comply with ICAO’s CO2 emissions standards beyond 2028. The airline will benefit from the aircraft’s step-change in performance and economics, while maintaining passenger comfort and lowest operating costs,” said Anand Stanley, President Airbus Asia-Pacific.

The A330neo’s outstanding effectiveness also assures compliance with current and future sustainability criteria in terms of noise and emissions, offering travellers with the highest comfort in one of the quietest planes developed. The outer noise footprint of this aircraft has been reduced by approximately 60% as a result of the materials and engines used in its construction, while the noise level within the aircraft is 3db lower than counterparts.

The A330neo”which is powered by latest generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines”, also has a new composite wing with expanded span for improved, fuel-saving aerodynamics.

As one of the world’s most young and modern fleets, CebPac’s A330neo will set to enter the service by next month. It will be used to CEB’s local and international destinations.
