In 2021, there were some remarkable progress and advancements despite the pandemic. We saw how some of the most popular countries and their destinations reopened to tourism. Air travel and cruise ships returned to business. And that’s because of the development of COVID-19 vaccines, which improved the safety of the people. However, in late November 2021, a new variant of coronavirus called Omicron was discovered. Once again, this prompted countries to heighten restrictions and tighten entry requirements. And people, though eager to travel, have safety as their top priority. So, here are some countries that you can visit that can ensure both your safety and enjoyment.
United Arab Emirates (UAE)
This country is one of the fewest countries to obtain a Level 1 travel advisory from the U.S. State Department and Centers for Disease Control of Prevention (CDC). They placed 26th on the worldwide GPI of countries with the lowest COVID-19 cases.
Jamaica
Jamaica obtained a Level 2 travel advisory from the State Department and CDC. Officials advised travellers to exercise increased caution if they were to visit the country. CDC has also reported that Jamaica has a moderate level of coronavirus.
The Bahamas
Just like Jamaica, the Bahamas has received a Level 2 travel advisory both from the State Department and CDC. With this, people would be less worrisome and can just enjoy its beautiful beaches.
Iceland
Iceland might become your priority destination as it has ranked 1st in the worldwide GPI and topped the Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection’s list of the safest countries in 2022.
Fiji
Sharing the same grouping as UAE, Fiji has received a Level 1 advisory from the State Department and CDC, which also indicates the country has a low level of COVID-19 cases.
Canada
Though having a Level 3 travel advisory from the State Department and CDC, Canada has placed 12th in the worldwide GPI and third in the Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection list.
New Zealand
This country was one of the countries that thrived against the virus from the get-go. That is because New Zealand has been off-limits to inbound international travellers since 2020. But in 2022, there is a high chance that they may welcome tourists back as NZ has placed 3rd in the worldwide GPI, just behind Denmark, being 2nd, and Iceland, being 1st as previously stated. It also ranked second in the Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection list.
